Of course there is only one Tewaaraton award distributed to the MVP of the division 1 lacrosse league, the Tewaaraton award is the nation's pre-eminent collegiate lacrosse accolade. Between these 25 candidates i will help cut that down to my top 5 with reasoning why I feel they should win.

    1. Senior Attack-men Billy Bitter, from UNC is a favorite this year with a great start as the Tar heels are number 3! Billy is a terrific attack man. He can handle the ball. I think his vision has improved. He does a terrific job of drawing attention.

    2. Senior Goalie John Galloway, from Syracuse University is the number one goalie in the country. Galloway is 10-1 in goal this season and has made 97 saves in the 11 games. He boasts a .552 save percentage and ranks seventh in the country in goals-against average (7.28).

    3. Junior Attack men Steele Stanwick, from Virginia University has become a threat on the field for the cavaliers program the past three years. His 2009 rookie season he was named the league rookie of the year, following up the 2010 season he was named second team All-American. Stanwick has helped the cavaliers become the number 2 seed in the country.

    4.  Junior Long stick mid-fielder C.J. Costabile, from Duke University is a crowd favorite for this years award.  C.J does not only play outstanding defense but being a 4 year All-American in high school has boosted his chances to succeed at Duke. He can win face-offs, hit, and pick up ground balls.

    5.  Senior Mid-fielder  Joel White, from Syracuse Became the first defensive specialist to win the Lt. Donald C. MacLaughlin Jr. Award as the nation’s most outstanding midfielder. He has helped goal keeper Galloway tremendously, not only communicating effectively but minimizing shots!
